Ipek und Gabi

Storyline

Ipek, 23, has a genetic defect that is steadily impairing her eyesight. She masters her everyday life thanks to the help of her guide dog Gabi. Her dog is more than just an everyday help. Gabi is Ipek's best friend, the reliable support and the two seeing eyes with whom she discovers the world every day and with whom she gradually becomes more independent. The film follows the pair in their everyday lives, observing them in difficult situations and how they find solutions together.

About the film/director

Anton Augsten, born in Leipzig, studied documentary film at the University of Television and Film in Munich. Starting with fictional short films, documentaries have increasingly captured his heart. Since then, his work has focused on people and what moves them.
