Storyline

You return to the places of your childhood. You tremble, sweat and swallow hard. You can't escape the memories. Some shine like paintings, others hit you like fists. The children's home under the Communists, the foster homes, the juvenile prison. Then came the silent revolution, and with it freedom - and you didn't know what to do with it. You fell a hundred times and got up a hundred times. They didn't break you, because you weren't alone. You had yourself, and you had hope. Hope that one day you would escape. To America, where your father was waiting for you, to Amerikánka. The story of a girl who stopped running.
